Safe Guarding and Child Protection
Al Khor International School is committed to ensuring the welfare of children and young people are promoted, secured and maintained at all times. All staff and volunteers are expected to share this commitment. To this end, priority consideration is given to safeguarding and child protection within the school.
This commitment is underpinned by robust safeguarding and child protection guidelines. Proactive safeguarding measures maximise opportunities for education and necessary intervention, and minimise the risk of acute and/or chronic harm to children and young people. The school continuously promotes a culture of safeguarding amongst its workforce and the wider school community. Reactive child protection measures ensure timely, child centred intervention to re-secure the welfare of children and young people where this has been lost; this can include the referral of cases to appropriate, government approved, external agencies.
To ensure staff fulfill their commitment and meet the highest of international standards, they receive annual safeguarding and child protection training provided by National Online Safety (a division of The National College).
If there should be any concerns regarding the safety and/ or wellbeing of a child, please contact our trained, designated safeguarding leads within the school:
