Celebrating Success

Following the CIS Evaluators Visit in December, the Team Evaluation Report confirms that Al Khor International School (AKIS) meets 34 and exceeds 25 of 59 standards assessed. The report commends AKIS for its welcoming, inclusive, and aspirational learning community where students thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Successfully achieving the CIS Accreditation affirms that the school meets rigorous standards and that students benefit from a high-quality international education respected by universities and education authorities worldwide.

The report highlights the balanced focus on academic excellence and holistic development to ensure students are nurtured to thrive as global citizens. The evaluators praise the quality of teaching and learning, and the learning environments that encourage curiosity and critical thinking. Students are recognised for their confidence, leadership, and positive attitude towards learning.

A Strong Culture of Care

The report also celebrates the school’s robust pastoral care and wellbeing provision that promotes intercultural understanding and global outlook, alongside extracurricular enrichment. Strong relationships between staff and students, as we as the respectful and caring atmosphere across the school, are identified as key strengths.

The evaluators praised the clarity of the school’s strategic direction and shared vision, the enthusiasm of staff, and the stability and supportiveness of leadership at all levels. They also noted the high standards of facilities maintenance that provide a well-functioning and safe environment for learning.

The report commends the strong sense of belonging across the school, praising the shared sense of purpose between staff, students, and families. Evaluators also highlighted the strength of communication and numerous opportunities for parents to be involved in school life.
