Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE)
AKIS is fully licensed by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education in Qatar and has been awarded the Qatar National School Accreditation (QNSA) for a period of five years; the maximum given.
Council of International Schools (CIS)
AKIS is CIS Internationally Accredited, demonstrating that it meets internationally recognised standards and is committed to continuous improvement. This accreditation reflects the school's dedication to providing a high-quality international education that prepares students to thrive as global citizens.
Council of British International Schools (COBIS)
AKIS is an Accredited Member, having successfully met the UK Government's British Schools Overseas (BSO) standards through an inspection conducted by a UK Government-approved inspectorate.
British Schools in the Middle East (BSME)
AKIS is a member of BSME (British Schools in the Middle East), a quality-assured network that promotes educational excellence through professional development, collaboration, accreditation, and a range of inter-school academic, sporting, and cultural opportunities.
British Schools Overseas (BSOs)
AKIS is a British School Overseas (BSOs) accredited by the UK Department for Education. Following a rigorous inspection by a government-approved inspectorate and quality assured by OFSTED, this accreditation recognises the school's commitment to delivering high-quality British education that meets internationally recognised standards.
International English Testing System (IELTS) Testing Centre
AKIS is an approved IELTS testing centre, providing students with the opportunity to complete a globally recognised English language qualification that supports university admission and future study or career opportunities in English-speaking countries.
Inspections
AKIS conducts regular independent inspections to validate the integrity of its teaching and learning practices, policies and student welfare systems. The Ofsted framework for the inspection of independent schools in England, is adapted to the specific context and bi-curricular status to assess the school.
Al Khor International School is committed to ensuring the welfare of children and young people are promoted, secured and maintained at all times.
