Double Honours at the ABT International Awards - British Curriculum Primary and Secondary
We are delighted to announce that AKIS has been selected to receive both the 'Excellence Trophy for Outstanding Achievement in Arabic', and the 'Values Trophy for Strong Understanding of Islamic Education Values', at the 2026 ABT International Standardized Assessments Awards Ceremony in October.
This recognition reflects the strong performance of British curriculum students in Arabic Language with students in Years 4-9 (ages 8-14), achieving results that ‘exceeded’ the international benchmarks for their respective age range:
ARABIC LANGUAGE RESULTS OF AKIS VS GLOBAL AVERAGE
Year 4: +6.1%
Year 6: +4.6%
Year 7: +4.4%
Year 9: +1.4%
AKIS introduced ABT International Standardized Assessments during the Academic Year 2024-25 to quality assure teaching and learning outcomes against external benchmarks. Their introduction also reflects the importance we place on the development of Arabic Language within the school.
This year, only 270 (19%) schools from more than 1,400 participating schools have been selected for recognition by ABT. Receiving both the Excellence and Values Trophies is therefore a significant achievement and an important recognition of the progress and performance of AKIS students.
The awards recognise schools whose students have demonstrated strong performance in the latest ABT assessments, alongside the work of their teachers in instilling high standards of learning and achievement.
As ABT celebrates ten years of International Standardized Assessments, we are proud that AKIS has been recognised with both awards. I would like to congratulate students and thank members of staff for the care, professionalism, and commitment that have contributed to this excellent achievement.
