House System

At AKIS, the House System plays a central role in promoting healthy competition, teamwork, and a strong sense of belonging across the school community. It encourages academic and behavioural excellence while providing meaningful opportunities for students to develop personal responsibility, leadership skills, and confidence as global citizens. The House System also supports positive wellbeing, helping students build resilience, self-esteem, and a sense of pride in their contributions to the school community.

Our five pastoral houses are thoughtfully named to reflect the values, strengths, and attributes we aim to nurture in our students. Teacher House Leaders for each house work closely with our student leadership team to organise events, competitions, and community initiatives that foster collaboration, creativity, and leadership. House assemblies are held regularly throughout the academic year to celebrate student achievements, recognise participation in competitions, and reinforce positive contributions.

Through the House System, students not only develop academic and social skills but also cultivate empathy, teamwork, and a strong sense of responsibility—preparing them to thrive both within school and as active, caring members of the wider community.
